It's been a while since I have written. Looking back at the blogs I wrote made intrigued to wire again. I always took this assignment from Mr. Burge for granted. It felt like such a burden, but now I realize how important it is to my LIFE. Writing should not be taken for granted.
I just got done watching Transcendence. I don't know what to say about that movie, whether I liked it or not, but it allowed me to think about something. Would you want to live in a world that was so technologically advanced that there was an intellectual machine that could change the earth into a better place by using CONTROL or live in a world in the hands of humans?

Music
Music. Music gets me through the day. I wake up and turn on my music. As I'm getting ready, the music is filling my entire body, mind and soul. My spirit wakes up with the first beat. Music is the sound of life. It allows people to be inspired, shows them hope, and bring joy and understanding to their hearts. Everything about music makes me crazy happy. I recently got my ukulele so Ivan be making my own music. I have my guitar, as well, but I have never really committed myself to learn how to play. I'm hoping with this new determination to learn how to play this ukulele will allow me to feel that way towards my other instruments. I would also love to play the violin, which I let go a few years back. One of the bad decisions that I made in my life, as well as letting go of the things I learned in my guitar lessons.
Let's talk about the music I enjoy. I have really gotten into the Jets. They are amazing! They are an alternative rock band from Australia that unfortunately broke up a while back. One of my favorites is "Are You Gonna Be my Girl?" Others that I like are: "Cold Hard Bitch," "Look What You've Done," and "Roll Back DJ." These songs really get me pumped up! The lyrics are relatable because everyone gets played sometime.
I absolutely love Jason Mraz!! He fills my soul with love for the world. "Love For A Child" is a beautiful song about life and the different hardships that people go through and the outcome of their life. One of his funny songs is "The Woman I Love" because it mentions all the annoying things that his love does, but says that that gives him no reason to. Leave her. It's cute. There are more songs that I like by him, so I will keep you posted.
If you get a chance. Listen to "Chicago" bu Sufjan Stevens. It's beautiful.
Service
I love Wendy Thomas! She has been a great mentor for me in the last couple of months. She is the Auxillary Board Member, which is a very important position to have because they talk to the Counsellors who communicate with the Universal House of Justice. I know. I know. This all is very confusing and that is true. I'm still trying to wrap my head around it too. Back to Wendy though, it is such an honor to be working with he every week. I can't believe that I have an Auxillary Board Member come to my junior youth group every week!
Wendy has asked me to stay in Reno and become a home front pioneer. That would be what I would do for my year of service after graduation. I would move in Village of the Pines, where I would create a stronger relationship with my junior youth. That seems all nice and all of I hadn't already applied for Haifa. I really want to go to Israel for a year and that was decided long before this was an option. I don't know what to do. There is no wrong decision, but I want to make the best one. I talked to my parents, and they immediately refused me staying in Reno for my year of service. Surprisingly, my dad got pretty upset.
I'm going to pray to God and ask other friends in what the right decision for me is. I do have a feeling that most will tell me to go to Israel because it is a life changing experience, but here I will be making an impact that would really change the community. My dad keeps on telling me that I need to go to Israel and find a nice boy to marry. I was thinking what the heck! Last year, he was talking about how I'm not allowed to date anyone until I get my doctorates. He is crazy! Then, he told me that I need to get married fast and have a baby, so that they could be grandparents and raise the baby for me as I went to college. All that talk left me speechless. I was having a head time believing that was my father!!

Role Play
I have to say that I am really intrigued with my new project in English! "The Importance of Being Earnest" was wonderful! As I was finishing the play, I couldn't help but stop every five minutes to write down something I found interesting, funny, and confusing. Even though the mock-serious tone was pretty obvious, I wish I knew more about the Victorian era to fully understand the humor. The tone of the characters was very pompous. As if everything they said was too important to be heard. One character that resembles this is Lady Bracknell. She was one of the most condescending cynical women. For example, she said, "I am not in favour of long engagements. They give people the opportunity of finding out each other's character before marriage, which I think is never advisable. This of satire was extremely funny! People in the Victorian era must have acted that way to not even get to know their the person they were engaged to.
I also noticed a lot of dramatic irony. For example, when the reader knew that Algernon was not Ernest when he introduced himself to Cecily, and she mentions to him, "I hope you have not been leading a double life, pretending to be wicked and being really good all the time."Jack was not Ernest when he had gotten to know Gwendolen. Another dramatic irony moment was the reason why both Jack and Algernon were getting baptized, to change their names to Ernest. Also, that Jack did not have a brother and only used that excuse to be able to go to the city and get away from the country.
I have many of my favorite qoutes marked up. One would be be when Cecily says, " I am not punctual myself, I know, but I do like the punctuality in others.." I can really relate to this quote, even though it is unfair and rude.
Thoughts
I have mixed feelings towards my life. I am not sure what to do. I'm not sure what to think. I'm not sure what to say. I'm not sure how to act! I am confused.
My head hurts from thinking about not thinking so much.
Physically, my head has been hurting for the past week. I have been getting a rash on my neck and behind my ears. I have been stratching my head as often as Dr. Phil gives advice. For a couple days, I thought it was my shampoo because it was new, and my scalp was starting to itch badly. Then, it got to my skin and I knew that wasn't my problem. I couldn't figure it out! Of course, my parents thought it was lice. They checked in between all the parts of my hair, but found nothing. After that, I left this issue alone because I was stressed out about my English to worry about my physical health.
Last night, I was sitting on the couch, when it hit me! I had gotten a new bedspread!! That must be my problem! I must be allergic to that! So I decided to lay something over my pillow. For today, the itching is less severe. I feel much better and am glad to have come to the source of my problem. Although I am relieved that I don't have some sort of disease, I am in a state of melancholy because the bedspread is so comfortable and nice-looking.

The Importance of Being Earnest
I thought this play would be another boring love story, but it is fairly interesting. The use of satire allows the play to be unique and captivating. From the very first line, Oscar Wilde makes it clear about his intentions with the play. Even on the title page, it's written "A Trivial Comedy for Serious People." It was a bit confusing to understanding what was going on in the first two paragraphs. As Oscar Wilde wrote, "And, speaking of the science of Life, have you got the cucumber sandwiches cut for Lady Bracknell?" At first, I was trying to find a comparison between these two to understand better. As I was thinking of how they went together, I began to understand maybe there wasn't a comparison at all. So I went To look at the title again to see how it was using satire. I realized that he was mocking the people that believed it was as important in having cucumber sandwiches present for their guest as the science of Life. I thought that was so clever!! I loved to unravel the satire and find the author's true meaning.
